Example: Assay of Nitrite
Sensitivity and detection limit of the colorimetric assay of nitrite with sulfanilamide reagent are improved by increasing injected sample volume from 30 to 160μL.
Since the reaction is very fast, and since the reagent is added continuously at the confluence point along the entire length of the injected sample zone, increasing the injected sample volume is feasible approach.
The optical path of the flow cell is 1cm, flow rates 1.5ml/min per channel and the reaction coil is 40 cm long 0.8mm I.D. Sampling frequency 100s/hour.
